Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals with Morley are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines the terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle from Morley, you must be at least 21 years old, although specific age restrictions may apply depending on the vehicle type, with extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, you must present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment details and a security deposit. Please review the Rental Agreement for any further requirements.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Dartford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pick-up. Prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment partners.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and must be signed by both parties. It is expected that you return the vehicle in the same condition as when it was collected, with allowances made for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same level of fuel as at the start of the rental; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please reach out to us promptly if you anticipate any delays. You will be held accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges that arise during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is acquired. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional fees.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Prohibited uses of the vehicle include engaging in illegal activities, racing, off-roading, or any hazardous driving. Transporting dangerous materials, sub-letting, or allowing unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle must not be used for purposes beyond its design, nor should passenger or weight limits be exceeded. Driving outside of the agreed geographical areas without prior approval is also not allowed.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Morley Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claim will be limited to the total amount paid for the rental in the prior year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
Governing Law Overview
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in their courts.
Terms Update Notice
Morley reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
